What is a Heinz Bet?

A Heinz bet involves a whopping 57 lines that feature 15 doubles, 20 trebles, 15 four-fold accumulators, six five-fold accumulators, and one sixfold accumulator. A Heinz bet centers on six different selections and can be placed across a multitude of different sports.

57 different betting lines could be a lot to get your head around, but don’t worry. In this betting guide, we will have everything covered and explain how a Heinz works, how you can win, how the bet is calculated, and the different advantages and disadvantages.

How Do I Win My Heinz Bet?

As there is no single bet element when it comes to producing winning returns from your Heinz bet, in order to make any returns you will need at least two of your selections to be predicted successfully.

The only way to make the highest possible returns is if all six of your selections within the bet win. If every team wins, you will win all doubles, trebles, four folds, five folds, and the one six fold bet.

The reason why so many like placing a Heinz bet is due to the flexibility it can provide. Let’s take the example from earlier and say that Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal all win their games, but Tottenham and Chelsea lose, the following bets would win:

Doubles

  • Manchester City and Manchester United
  • Manchester City and Liverpool
  • Manchester City and Arsenal
  • Manchester United and Liverpool
  • Manchester United and Arsenal
  • Liverpool and Arsenal

Trebles

  • Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool
  • Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal
  • Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal
  • Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal

Four Fold Accumulators

  • Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal

Due to the fact that two of our chosen teams would have lost, the five fold and six fold bets can’t mathematically occur and will be losing bets.

If just one team were to lose, this would bring in the possibility of the five fold taking place and other double, treble, and four fold scenarios coming back into play.

What is Needed to Place a Heinz Bet?

As the bet contains 57 different lines, whatever you wish to stake will be multiplied by 57. Therefore, if you wanted to bet £1 per line, the total stake required would be £57. Usually, Heinz bets can be staked at a minimum of £0.10, but even at this minimum amount a total stake of over £5 will be required.

If you wanted to bet £10 per line, this would take your overall stake to £570.

How are the Returns for a Heinz Bet Calculated?

The odds and returns of a Heinz bet are completely dependent on the prices of the teams, horses, and players that you choose. The higher the odds of your selections, the higher the likelihood that you will have a bet that returns a decent price.

The odds for each of the individual doubles, trebles, four folds, five folds, and six folds are individually calculated by multiplying the odds of the different teams together.

As there can be multiple outcomes within a Heinz bet, the overall returns will be worked out by adding these different sums together.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Heinz Bets

Advantages

  • A Heinz bet can see some huge returns made, particularly if all six selections are successful.
  • There is great flexibility to the bet with not every team needing to win in order for returns to be made.
  • It can be applied across multiple sports.
  • A variety of odds can be chosen to form your overall Heinz bet.

Disadvantages

  • A minimum of two selections are needed in order for your bet to be classed as a winning one.
  • The stakes can be high in comparison to single bets or accumulators.
  • Can be complex to track and work out the overall returns if one team loses.
